About Atramentum

Atramentum is Matthew McMurray, a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, photographer and historic buildings archaeologist; based in Devizes, Wiltshire

After completing his Undergraduate and Masters degees in Archaeology and Archaeological Survey, he has spent the past 4 years working in commercial archaeology. Most recently, working for Wessex Archaeology, one of the largest archaeological consultancys in Europe, where he has spent the past year working as an archaeological illustrator and historic buildings consultant.

Alongside this work Matthew has pursued his love of design, architecture and photography in a freelance capacity.

He is the author of "Eden House" a short book detailing the architectural and social history of an early 18th century town house in Durham city. As well as several other papers on archaeological themes.
